Rugalach (ruhg-uh-luh)
/Ruga what? Put simply it's a Jewish pastry that means "little twists" in Yiddish. Put another way it's the love child of a croissant and a strudel...and it's really freaking good. It really shines when dunked into a latte, but not sure if Jenson was ready for that. This particular Saturday we said, 'to hell' with the baby oatmeal and ventured into Roogla, one of our local coffee shops. We (OK..I) went a little Rugalach Crazy and ordered four of them. Apricot, chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon. I told myself I'd save some for later and there was a fleeting thought that maybe Jenson just wouldn't dig them. But not only does he dig it, the Rugalach brings out the sharing side in him.. "Lady and the Tramp" style. My heart turned to Rugalach mush that morning.
