Chicken and Sausage Gumbo (guhm-boh)

Unfortunately for Jenson the Bayou just hasn't made the travel short-list. And while we're talking Southern marshland....neither has New Orleans. But that doesn't mean we can't bring the Bayou and the Big Easy to Brooklyn. Well, Blue Apron brought them to us in the form of chicken, sausage and a lot of Cajun flare one evening back in early August. There were some dramatic moments when the cajun spice was too over-powering for his then 11-month-old palate. But he persevered. Afterall, his mama is from Chicago and that means baby boy loves his sausage. Blue Apron is the ultimate dinner life-changer and who knows....it might even be the ultimate inspiration for future travel plans. Til' the next time Blue Apron. Which unashamedly...is next week. Because shopping for ingredients and staring in your cupboard each night to invoke culinary inspiration is just so overrated.
